Second CyrusOne Data Center in Phoenix Completed in 107 days
D.P. Electric worked on the ground-up construction team to complete the 120,000-sqare-foot facility
TEMPE, Ariz. (Oct. 22, 2014) –The 120,000-square-foot Phoenix II data center facility for global data center provider CyrusOne, took just 107 days from ground up to commissioning. D.P. Electric worked alongside DPR Construction as a part of the team that redefined the delivery cycle for construction of enterprise-class data centers on this project, with what is believed to be the fastest data center construction from the ground up in the United States.
The Phoenix II facility currently supplies 4.5 megawatts of power, with plans to expand to this facility to 240,000 square feet and 24 megawatts of power. Ultimately, the Chandler campus is planned to house seven facilities and have up to 1,000,000 square feet of data center space with over 100 megawatts of power, making it one of the largest and most energy-efficient centers in the United States.
“The current demand for data center space in the Phoenix market is booming, and CyrusOne is ahead of the curve in designing and engineering facilities to meet this need” said Dan Puente, president of D.P. Electric. “To pull this off, CyrusOne needed a team that matched their dedication to delivering this fast-track project for their clients, and I’m proud to say our team was a part of this success.”
The D.P. Electric team was led by Project Manager John Fleury, who has extensive background in mission-critical data center facilities. In order to ensure project delivery that met the accelerated schedule, D.P. Electric operated at 24/7 schedule, employing its most skilled and efficient workforce.
