Career Development

D.P. Electric, Inc. provides numerous educational opportunities both through the Company and its educational partner the Arizona Builders’ Alliance (ABA)

OSHA 10 & OSHA 30

We take the requirements of OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) very seriously and provide in-house OSHA compliance training to all our Field Superintendents as well as field employees. Classes available include OSHA 10 (a 10-hour safety training course) and OSHA 30 (a 30-hour safety training course) and will be offered based on employee skill level and jobsite requirements. In addition, DP Electric, Inc. offers extensive training in safety and safe use of equipment.

Employee Education Assistance Program

As a benefit to employees with one (1) year of continuous employment, D.P. Electric, Inc. offers assistance with Company trade-related educational courses. The Company encourages employees to further their self-development through courses of study, both on and off the job. Education courses are limited to one program at a time.

D.P. Electric, Inc. will pay “normal expenses” for approved courses according to an approved Company reimbursement schedule. Some courses available courses are:
  • Code Classes and similar-type classes related to the industry
    These courses are available to journeymen and apprentices.
  • Apprenticeship Program
    This program is for first year and above electricians.
  • PEP (Professional Electricians) Program
    This is a two (2) year accelerated program for Journeymen electricians with a minimum of five (5) years proven experience.
  • Foreman Development Program

Leadership Training

DP Electric, Inc. periodically enrolls its management and upper-level electricians in leadership programs offered through Rapport Leadership International and the ABA (Arizona Builder’s Alliance). These programs serve to enhance the leadership skills of the men and women who make our company successful.

Insurance

Medical & Dental

Medical and dental insurance is available for full-time employees who have completed their 90-day probationary period. The Company pays 50% of the employee-only premium for employees who have completed their probationary period but have less than 1-year of full time service. The Company pays 100% of the employee-only premium for employees who have 1-year or more of full-time service. Regardless of the length of service, employees are 100% responsible for all dependent/family premiums.

Supplemental

The Company offers additional benefit plans including short-term disability (at the employee’s expense) through other Company-approved providers including.

Life Insurance

The Company offers a 100% Company-paid $25,000 term life insurance policy for employees who have completed their 90-day probationary period. This life insurance benefit is available only to D.P. Electric, Inc. employees.

Incentive Programs

Profit Sharing

D.P. Electric, Inc. will issue profit sharing each quarter based on the results of the Company’s financial statements, only for quarters in which D.P. Electric, Inc. was profitable and at the sole discretion of the president. The amounts for individual profit sharing checks will be determined based on annual gross wages, tenure with the Company, position within the Company and merit. The President will review profit sharing allocations with the employee’s manager prior to distribution.

Profit sharing certificates will be issued in January each year for the previous year. Profit sharing will be deposited tax-deferred into employee pension plan accounts, if profitable and declared by the president.

Safety & Attendance Awards/Incentives

Safety/Attendance incentives are available to all Field employees with no unexcused absences, safety infractions or work-related injuries on a quarterly basis.

Raw Cost Savings Incentives

D.P. Electric, Inc. offers a “Raw Cost Savings Incentive Program” for Foremen, Field Superintendents and Project Managers. Award amounts are determined by raw cost savings on qualifying successful projects. The purpose of the program is to reward hardworking, conscientious employees who perform above and beyond normal Company expectations and to encourage employment longevity.

Pay, Vacation & Holidays

Pay & Direct Deposit

D.P. Electric, Inc. employees are paid on a weekly basis. Employees are encouraged to sign up for direct deposit. Direct deposit funds are automatically deposited into the employees’ account on the regularly scheduled pay date (normally Friday unless a holiday).

Paid Holidays

Field employees who have completed at least 90 days, but less than one year of employment, are eligible for the following two paid holidays:
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas
Field employees with at least one year of continuous employment are eligible for the following six paid holidays:
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas
  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Fourth of July
  • Labor Day

Full-time administrative hourly, salaried-non-exempt and salaried exempt employees who have completed at least 90-days of employment are eligible for all six paid holidays

Vacation pay

The Company provides paid vacation time as a reward for years of continuous service.

Full-time employees with a minimum of one(1) year of consecutive employment are eligible for paid vacation. Length of vacation is based on years of service and is not accrued until the employee’s anniversary date.

Sick Time

The Company provides sick leave benefits to full-time administrative hourly, salaried non-exempt and salaried exempt employees for periods of temporary absence due to unavoidable illness.

Eligible employees are given five (5) days paid sick time after completing one year of service.

Field employees are not eligible to receive sick pay.

Additional Benefits

401k program

Eligible employees may enroll in the program the first of the quarter after completing 90 days of full-time employment.

D.P. Electric matches a percentage of employee contributions after one (1) year of continuous employment, based on a vesting schedule. Employee contributions are always 100% vested.

Other Benefits

In addition to the aforementioned benefits, D.P. Electric, Inc. provides 90-day and annual reviews, unpaid FMLA, Bereavement and Jury Duty leave, Cafeteria Plan, Flexible Spending Account, etc...
