We believe that investing in our team and the culture of the organization first is imperative to giving our clients an exceptional experience, which in turn creates more opportunities for our team. Every person on our team, from the apprentice getting started in the trade to a vice president, has an impact on the organization’s success. 

With becoming an employee-owned company in 2021, this belief is now stronger than ever. Our team of employee-owners gets to share in the company’s financial success through the long-term benefit of the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

DP University

DP Electric’s internal employee development program, DP University is designed to address actual development opportunities across Safety, Quality, Production and Leadership Development. All DPU courses are developed by using data generated from performance reviews. This data is then aggregated and analyzed by Education, Safety and Talent Development Leadership to develop courses that overcome these employee developmental needs.

Where We've Been

1990
DP Electric is founded by Dan Puente out of his home with one truck and an employee with the vision of creating a company that empowers its people to grow personally and professionally.
2000
In the first 10 years of DP Electric’s history, the company received many minority contractor opportunities with utility companies and Phoenix Sky Harbor airport. In 2000, Dan Puente was awarded SBA minority small business person of the year.
2006
DP Electric graduated from the PHX MBE program surpassing 20M in revenue.
2016
DP Electric created DP University and received the first of many AZ top company awards.
2021
DP Electric became an employee-owned company through the sale of 30% of DP Electric to an ESOP. DP Electric also celebrated the first graduates of the DP University’s fully NCCER accredited four-year apprenticeship program.
1994
Moved into 1st office in Tempe
2004
Moved into 13,500 square foot office that would be the company headquarters for 14 years.
2013
Coming out of the recession, DP Electric became a key partner on several data center projects. Most notably, DP Electric completed a 4.5 MW project in 107 days.
2018
DP Electric moved into a 35,000 square foot office in Tempe and surpassed 60M in revenue.
